一、证伪主义的科学哲学
科学哲学是波普尔哲学的主要部分。他称他的科学哲学为“批判理性主义”，有时又称之为“证伪主义”，因为反对逻辑实证主义的“经验证实原则”，他针锋相对地提出了一个与之相反的“经验证伪原则”。
1.反归纳主义与经验证伪原则
（1）反归纳主义
波普尔认为归纳法只能反映过去，不能告诉人们未来，既不能保证必然重复，也不能保证或然重复。人们应把归纳法拒斥于科学研究之外。
（2）经验证伪原则
波普尔的经验证伪原则是建立在其反归纳主义的基础上的。
因为经验只是个别的，无法上升到一般，所以不能证明普遍性理论，但却可以证伪普遍性理论。
（3）划界标准
波普尔与逻辑实证主义针锋相对，提出了相反的划界标准：一切知识命题，只有能被经验证伪的才是科学的，否则就是非科学的。根据以上，他认为以下类型的命题都是非科学的：
A.重言式命题；
B.列尽所有可能情况的逻辑命题；
C.数学命题；
D.“形而上学”命题；
E.宗教神话；
F.伪科学。
同时，波普尔认为科学与非科学是相对的，它们是可以相互转化的。
（4）形而上学实在论
波普尔反对逻辑实证主义关于形而上学命题没有意义应当排斥的观点。在形而上学问题上，他自称是个实在论者，坚持承认肯定经验之外的物质世界存在的观点是有积极意义的。
2.理论是大胆的猜测
（1）理论先于观察
波普尔坚持理论先于观察。他认为，经验事实无限复杂，只能选择其中的有限部分观察。而选择，则必须以理论、观点为指导。
因此，波普尔同意康德的“理性给自然立法”的观点，但他不认为理性的立法必然正确，而应抱以批判的态度。这也是为什么他自称自己的理论是“批判的理性主义”。
（2）科学开始于问题
波普尔认为，从知识的来源来说，理论先于观察；从科学的发展来说，则科学开始于问题。这是因为理论是一种对自然界普遍性的猜测，而猜测 总是从问题开始的。
（3）理论是大胆的猜测
理论既不来自于经验事实的归纳，又不来自于同义反复的演绎，那么理论从何而来？波普尔认为它们来自于科学家的猜测，一种类似于柏格森所说的创造性直觉。
