伽达默尔
一、本体论的解释学
伽达默尔认为理解和解释本质上不是一种方法，而是人类的一种存在方式，人是理解着的存在，人是理解着的存在。传统的认识论是建立在笛卡尔的“主体-客体”二元对立的模式上，而在解释学中，此在与存在是浑然一体的。
伽达默尔认为理解具有三种性质：
（1）历史性；
（2）语言性；
（3）实践性。
二、理解的历史性
伽达默尔认为，理解是受一定历史限制的。任何理解都要从“先见”或“偏见”出发。他强调，不应笼统地否定偏见，而应区别地对待先见。他把先见分为两类：
（1）合法的先见；
（2）盲目的先见。
不过他认为区别它们是不容易的，要在“理解”的过程中不断鉴别。
总之，理解是在新、旧视域中不断变化的，叫做解释学的循环。
伽达默尔一方面肯定理解的历史局限性，另一方面又肯定理解和语言交流的可能性，但如何把二者辩证统一起来，他没有做出令人信服的论证。
三、理解的语言性
伽达默尔强调理解的语言性，不仅是因为理解和解释正是通过语言实现的，还因为理解是一种对话的实践，是一种理解者与文本之间的平等对话。
他从本体论上理解语言和世界的关系，“存在是一种语言”，“人是通过语言拥有世界的”。
伽达默尔还强调说话者的非自主性，把语言比作一种游戏，决定游戏的是游戏规则。
四、解释的实践性
伽达默尔断言，哲学不同于科学，哲学属于实践智慧，而科学真理属于理论知识。
他认为，当今的时代是属于科学的“技术理性”的时代，人被异化，社会危机加深。而他的解释学就是一种通过倡导“实践理性”来增加对话，解决社会危机的“实践哲学”。
五、理解与意义
伽达默尔反对施莱尔马赫和狄尔泰等人的传统解释学的意义理论，把意义说成是文本本身所固有，他认为意义与理解者密切相连。
那么为什么文本的意义不是由解释者的主观性任意解释的呢？他认为解释的三个特点正回答了这个问题。
的确，对于文艺作品，不同的读者尽可发挥自己的想象力，然而法律文本呢？伽达默尔因此受到来自各方的批评。
伽达默尔的还有一个问题就是，既然人们的理解会不一样，那么他们怎么呢正确地交流呢？他为此提出了“不可翻译性”原则，孕育了德里达等人的解构主义语言不可交流理论。
